Retriever
Terms of Use
These terms are an agreement between you and Bayou Browns LLC (“we”), which makes Retriever. They apply to your use of the Retriever app and website. By using Retriever you agree to them. If you use the app through the Apple App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
Your account
You need an account to sync and send documents. Keep your sign-in secure; you are responsible for activity on your account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live.
Plans and subscriptions
- Retriever has a free plan and a paid Pro subscription, offered monthly ($4.99) or yearly ($39.99) in USD; local prices are shown in the App Store.
- Free trial: every new Retriever account gets 14 days of Pro free. It needs no purchase and no card, and nothing is charged when it ends: the account moves to the free plan unless you choose to subscribe.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Manage or cancel in your iPhone’s Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Deleting the app or your Retriever account does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
- Plan limits are described in the app. “Unlimited” features are subject to fair use (for example, 300 sends a month on Pro) to keep the service reliable for everyone. We may change plans or prices with notice; changes to a subscription price follow Apple’s rules.
Payments are recorded, not processed
Retriever helps you record payments your clients make to you and send them confirmations. It does not process, hold or transfer money, and is not a party to any transaction between you and your clients.
Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for your documents and their accuracy, including prices, sales tax, and any terms you include.
- You are responsible for complying with the tax, licensing, consumer-protection, privacy and other laws that apply to your business and your clients’ information. Retriever does not give tax, legal or accounting advice.
- Do not use Retriever for anything unlawful, to send spam, to impersonate others, or to interfere with the service.
Your content
You own the content you put in Retriever. You give us permission to store, process and transmit it only as needed to run the service for you (for example, to sync it and email documents you send).
Availability
We work to keep Retriever available and your data safe, but the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. Keep your own copies of important records (the app exports CSV and PDF).
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Bayou Browns LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim.
Ending
You can stop using Retriever and delete your account at any time in the app. We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Changes
We may update these terms; we will change the date above and tell you in the app about significant changes. Continuing to use Retriever means you accept them.
