Pool Otter

Terms of Use

Last updated: October 26, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Bayou Browns LLC ("we"), which makes Pool Otter. They apply to your use of the Pool Otter app and website. By using Pool Otter you agree to them. If you use the app through the Apple App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.

Plans and subscriptions

Pool Otter offers two yearly subscriptions in USD; local prices are shown in the App Store: Basic ($7.99/year: one pool and one spa) and Pro ($24.99/year: unlimited pools and spas).

Free trial: every new install gets 14 days of Pro free. It needs no purchase and no card, and nothing is charged when it ends. After it ends without a subscription, your data stays viewable and exportable, and adding new entries needs a plan.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your iPhone's Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. We may change plans or prices with notice; changes to a subscription price follow Apple's rules.

Chemical safety

Pool Otter's doses and recommendations are estimates based on the numbers you enter. Test results, product strengths and pool volumes vary, so add chemicals in stages and retest. Always read and follow the product label, never mix chemicals together, add chemicals to water (never water to chemicals), keep them away from children, and make sure the water is safe before anyone swims. Pool Otter is not a substitute for professional advice. You are responsible for how you treat your water.

Your account and content

An account is optional. If you create one, keep your sign-in secure; you are responsible for activity on it. You own the content you put in Pool Otter and give us permission to store and process it only as needed to run the service for you (for example, to sync it).

Do not use Pool Otter for anything unlawful or to interfere with the service.

Availability

We work to keep Pool Otter available and your data safe, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. Keep your own copies of important records (the app exports CSV and a full backup).

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Bayou Browns LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, for damage to pools, equipment, surfaces or property, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim.

Ending

You can stop using Pool Otter and delete your account at any time in the app. We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
